Crust Gourmet Pizza Bars and Domino’s Pizza have both issued statements denying rumours that Domino’s has plans to purchase its competitor.

Founder and managing director of Crust, Costa Anastasiadis said, “We’ve had a very successful year with over 100 per cent growth in turnover, nearly doubling out total store numbers and expansion into WA, Tasmania and Singapore. Business is booming and we have no intention to sell the business to Domino’s.”

In a statement, Don Meij, CEO of Domino’s, said “Recent speculation about Domino’s Pizza Enterprises Ltd (DMP) being in negotiations with Crust Pizza is unfounded and incorrect.”
