Sigma Pharmaceuticals Limited has appointed a new chief financial officer (CFO).

Iona MacPherson has been appointed as the new CFO of Sigma Pharmaceuticals. Coming from a seven year background as CFO and company secretary of Boom Logistics Limited, her most recent post was at IT services company, UXC Limited, in the same role.

“We are delighted to have secured the talents of such an accomplished CFO,” said Mark Hooper, Sigma Pharmaceuticals CEO in a report by Inside Retail.

“Iona’s financial and risk management expertise is well complemented by her detailed knowledge of logistics and contract negotiations, which will be of great value in helping to further drive Sigma’s performance,” he added.

The company has also appointed Jeff Sells into the newly created position of executive general manager strategy and business development to support Sigma’s business development and strategy activities.

The appointment comes as the owner of pharmacy franchise Amcal reported a drop in profits in March.
