Murdoch Uni gets a taste for Vietnamese

Nick Hall

Western Australian university students can now enjoy the convenience and health benefits of traditional Vietnamese cuisine, thanks to the latest opening from franchise Roll’d.

Successful small business owner, Raymond Widjaja is the franchisee behind the latest opening, and said he was excited to be opening a Western-Australian frist.

“It’s a space where you can dream, work and determine your own destination,” Widjaja said.

Located in the heart of Perth, the Murdoch University site is Roll’d’s first on-campus offering for the state, capitalising on strong foot-traffic and growth potential.

“We are confident that Roll’d Murdoch will be the pioneer for more fresh, healthy food offerings at universities across WA. It is a unique market and offers the opportunity to work with students and make delicious food for students.”

The Vietnamese franchise celebrated the new storefront opening with a student promotion that ran for the university’s orientation week.

Roll’d has been operating since 2012, experiencing rapid growth that seen the brand move from one store in Melbourne’s CBD to almost 70 stores nation-wide.

With sites in Victoria, New South Wales, ACT, South Australia, Queensland and Western Australia, the brand is gearing up for further Australian expansion with plans for international growth currently in discussion.

In 2016, Roll’d was ranked fourth on the Australian Financial Review’s Fast Starter list, recognising Australia’s highest turnover businesses less than four years old.
