Join the crusade and invest in a healthier future

SumoSalad is passionate about healthy eatingHealthy, affordable, tasty – what’s not to love about a food concept that provides a business opportunity that works not just for you and your family but the community around you?

Are you ambitious for your family’s future? You want to achieve great things, benefit from a flexible lifestyle and feel good about what you do.

You want a business where there’s a vision for a better Australia, a business with purpose.

You want to know you can make a difference, so aligning with a franchise that embraces strong values makes perfect sense.

Luke Baylis, founder of SumoSalad, has been a pioneer and advocate for healthy change in Australia’s eating habits after experiencing his own issues with weight gain.

Thirteen years ago SumoSalad set off on the journey to create a wellbeing consciousness right across Australia, with the ultimate goal of a healthier nation that benefits all of us.

And it’s the determination to make real change at a pace that everyone can work with that has influenced the development of the business model.

Two years ago the brand became the first quick service restaurant to introduce free-range chicken throughout the menu. Of course there are higher costs involved, but serving the best quality products is just part of the crusade, and the customers love it.

Now more than 1100 franchisees have spotted the potential and every day more than 25,000 customers tuck in to healthy, delicious food – proof that the campaign to bring a better lifestyle to all Australians is right on the money.

Because today we know we can make a difference and provide more than just great tasting food with speedy service.

SumoSalad puts a value on fresh, sustainable and preservative-free food, and on the benefits of good quality ingredients at a time when there’s a global push for cheaper products.

Guided by research and technology that highlight the best ways to eat and live well, the business considers what works best for everyone in the franchise relationship – the franchisees, the employees, suppliers and the customers – and of course, with livestock, animal welfare.

Add to this the concerns about the significant food wastage that occurs in any restaurant business.

And that’s why SumoSalad has linked with OZharvest to combat food waste and hunger. It’s a long term partnership with a series of initiatives including the winter collaboration #heatupthestreet which provided a meal to more than 50,000 needy individuals.

Another initiative is the nourish program which is a pathway to employment for vulnerable people aged 16 to 25. SumoSalad will be offering work experience for graduates from the program.

Just one step at a time can take us all on the journey towards a better and healthier future.

It’s a step that numerous franchisees have taken, from the Chadstone franchisee couple with a new-born baby, who see themselves as the new Aussie hipster family wanting to serve better food options, to the mother and daughter team at Harbour Town.

Sandy says “My daughter and I bought into a healthy related franchise like Sumo because we love the idea of being able to offer people healthy delicious food.”

Does that sound like you? Could you and your family join the crusade for better, healthier living across Australia?
