Hungry Jacks partners with Menulog, Deliveroo adds new zones

Franchise burger giant, Hungry Jacks has announced an exclusive partnership with online delivery service, Menulog in a deal that will service more than 1600 suburbs across Australia.

Adam Parkinson, Hungry Jacks CEO said the partnership with Menulog was a significant step forward in the brand’s innovation strategy and had the potential to drive sales in the competitive fast-food sector.

“We’ve been serving our famous flame grilled burgers to Australians for more than 45 years and, during this time, our business has continued to evolve to meet the needs of our valued customers,” Parkinson said.

“Our partnership with Menulog recognises customer demand for delivery and will allow Australians to order Hungry Jack’s from the comfort of their homes.”

The latest partnership sees more than 90 Hungry Jacks restaurants added to the Menulog database, which services more than three million Australians, with delivery also available through the ‘My HJ’s App’.

“We strive to work with the best suppliers and this extends to our delivery partners. With leading technology, compatible with our own advanced systems and more than 12 years’ experience, Menulog is the right choice in delivery partner for our brand. Our customers can expect the same high-quality experience they receive in our restaurants and drive-thrus,” Parkinson said.

Hungry Jack’s partnership follows KFC’s Menulog annoucement last week, cementing the need for Aussie fast food and QSR retailers to acclimatise to the digital and at-home ordering age.

Rory Murphy, Menulog commercial director said partnerships with nationally recognised franchise brands such as KFC and Hungry Jacks reflected the growing consumer demand for delivery platforms.

“We’re incredibly excited to officially announce our partnership with Hungry Jacks and to be able to offer the first-ever exclusive national deliveries from one of Australia’s most-loved burger brands. Having launched our delivery service earlier this year, our new partnership with Hungry Jacks is testament to its success and marks exciting times ahead for the Menulog business,” Murphy said.

Menulog’s development within the fast-food sector competitor follows Deliveroo’s recently announced expansion into 16 new delivery zones.

Deliveroo’s new zones will service an additional 1.5 million people across Australia, and sees riders, customers and restaurants in Hobart, Newcastle, and Cairns added for the first time.

Levi Aron, Deliveroo Australia country manager said the expansion allowed partnering brands to diversify their revenue streams, improving turnover and sales results.

“Since entering the Australian market only three years ago, Deliveroo has received an overwhelmingly positive response from restaurants, riders and customers alike,” Aron said.

“We look forward to continuing to bring Deliveroo to an even greater number of customers throughout Australia, while providing flexible, well-paid work to even more riders, and generating new revenue streams for our restaurant partners.”
