Hotel franchise set for growth in NSW, VIC, SA and WA

Sarah Stowe

Quest Apartments has plans to expand across New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia, with a total of 10 outlets set to open this year.

The franchise, which focuses on accommodation-only apartment, underwent a signage rebrand last year.

“We’re in a growth phase across Australasia (Australia and New Zealand) with ten new locations set to open in the next 12 months,’ said David Ridgeway, national franchise establishment manager.

Urban areas in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia will be the target this year, with a focus on regional New South Wales, Port Adelaide in South Australia, and Dandenong in Victoria next year.

“Our franchise model is really our point of difference,” added Ridgeway.

In his view, the Quest model is beneficial for franchisees due to its consistent cash flow from the extended corporate traveller requiring accommodation regularly, although leisure travellers are also important.

The buy-in cost of a Quest franchise ranges from $1m to $3m – $6m, depending on the size of the site. Network support is provided by head office, a franchise relations manager and an area manager, as well as IT, marketing and finance assistance from the system.

Ridgeway said that ideal franchisees have various business backgrounds, including corporate, small business and hospitality. People skills and management ability are also key.
