HomeVisitWills launching franchising model at Brisbane expo

New research from the NSW Government shows that at least 45% of Australians don’t have a valid will, with only 35% of the country having a current will.

For all Australians, having a current and valid will should be a priority; it can help get your affairs in order and reduce family stress should the unthinkable happen, however the process of obtaining the document is notoriously long-winded and complicated.

Since 1995, Colin Chapman, CEO and Founder of HomeVisitWills has been on a mission to revitalise and simplify the industry.

Identifying a need for a cost-effective, time-efficient and easily accessible will solutions, Chapman set up operations in the UK before bringing his mobile estate planning business model to Australian shores in 2009.

“Prior to our arrival, making a will was extremely difficult and expensive to do,” Chapman said.

“People had to go to a lawyer, taking time off work to do so. Often, they had to pay high fees for the drafting of these documents and wait a long time for them. HomeVisitWills offered a home visit, fixed prices and fast turnaround so we felt we were not only giving people an easy solution to this issue but also adding value.”

Now, after over 20 years providing will and estate planning services across both the UK and Western Australia, HomeVisitWills is looking to expand, officially launching its franchising business model at the Brisbane Franchising and Business Opportunities Expo.

“We have a 3-year plan to become established nationally,” Chapman said.

“Our focus right now is building our presence in Queensland and establishing a team of franchisees there. We believe in building foundations that are solid before adding more numbers to our team, hence the eight year establishment in WA.”

The franchising opportunity is backed by the company’s extensive history and industry knowledge, with Chapman pledging continued support and training for all potential franchisees.

“From the initial training programme our franchisees will be supported with regular contact with our senior management team,” Chapman said.

“Marketing initiatives and systems, as well as ongoing monthly coaching and mentoring meetings will support our team throughout their journey to becoming a successful HomeVisitWills franchisee.”

Chapman believes the brand’s success is testament to the model’s flexibility and consumer demand for professional, easy and timely will services.

“From inception to now we have proved that this service is of great value to people who are time poor yet have a real need to get their wills and estate planning in place,” Chapman said.

“In 8 years we have over 4,000 clients and strategic partnerships with over 200 financial professionals.”
