Australian salon franchise Hairhouse Warehouse, which has just opened its 100th store, is launching a three-year training initiative to ensure all its 650 hairdressers have up-to-date skills. The Salon Academy will be attended by Hairhouse Warehouse ambassadors across the whole of Australia, and will offer educational presentations and training videos every month.

General manager of Hairhouse Warehouse, Arthur Mitroulas, explained the reason for this action. “We want to be able to equip our salon staff with a high level of confidence and quality. It will be unique to our business so we have that point of difference.”

This educational programme will ensure Hairhouse Warehouse remains at the top of its game and tackles the long standing skills shortage in the hairdressing industry. “We have a real shortage of hairdressing staff; itÕs an industry challenge. Ultimately, weÕll create our own college, so weÕll always have a path of success for retaining our staff and ensuring a consistent competence across the entire country. It will be a dynamic, diverse and integrated academy.”
