Hairhouse Warehouse franchisee makes most of life

After recently being diagnosed with a brain tumour, Hairhouse Warehouse franchisee Christian Georgiou, 28, has channelled his energy into the popular Movember fundraising effort.

Georgiou has already raised almost $4200 and hopes to raise even more money by the end of the month to increase awareness of menÕs health issues; he aims to become one of the top 20 fundraisers in this yearÕs challenge.

A week after the brain tumour was discovered in August Georgiou had surgery to remove the tumour and is currently undergoing 30 radiotherapy sessions, which finish on 1 December.

Despite the ordeal Georgiou has remained positive. “It was a bit of a bummer, but it’s not going to stop me from reaching the ripe old age of 88! Only 60 years away,” he said.

A long time participant in the Movember fundraising month Georgiou decided that this year would be particularly important to raise funds for the cause

“Men often think theyÕre tough and brush off health concerns, so I think itÕs important to raise awareness of some of these issues to encourage men to be more health conscious,” he said.

While Georgiou has been losing his hair, he is making up for it with his newly grown moustache, which he has trimmed to perfection using his hairdressing skills. Starting out his career with Hairhouse Warehouse as a stock hand when he was just 14, Georgiou has worked his way up through the business, now owning his own store in Lower Templestone, Victoria.

“The Hairhouse Warehouse team has been extremely supportive of me during this time by helping me work towards my goal of the top 20 fundraisers this year,” said Georgiou.
