Australian gelato chain Gelatissimo has unveiled its most spectacular outlet to date, and its first Middle Eastern franchise, serving exotic new flavours to tempt local consumers.

GelatissimoÕs joint CEO, Domenico Lopresti, said this “Middle Eastern people love sweet products and the climate is ideal for frozen treats. And we are particularly pleased our first gelateria is in Kuwait, which has traditionally been a successful testing ground for new franchises for the Middle East.

“Perhaps more than any other country in the region, Kuwait is franchise-friendly, with all the major international franchises well established.”

The gelateria is the first to be opened by the stateÕs master franchisee, International Trade Holding Co. —Kuwait, which has business interests in the hospitality industry and will open a further two Gelatissimo outlets this year.

Richard Sabella, vice president business development of International Trade Holding Co. Kuwait, said “We knew that Gelatissimo would be embraced in Kuwait as it is totally different to anything currently available.

“There are lots of types of ice cream but nothing like the gelato produced by Gelatissimo. The taste is in a class of its own because the gelato is made fresh, in-store, on a daily basis. Plus its Australian and in Kuwait Australian products are considered to be of excellent quality,” he added.

Exotic Middle Eastern flavours such as pistachio, honey, fig and cardamom have been added to Gelatissimo’s core range including Aussie delights such as wattle, eucalyptus, mango and macadamia.
