Food brands propel franchise sector into Fast 100 2015 list

Which companies are breaking the speed barriers in growth? The latest Fast 100 list from BRW has included seven franchise companies – predominantly in the food arena.

Star performer food franchise Schnitz leads the way in the sector, ranked at number seven with 164.3 percent growth and a revenue of $72,886,908.

Hot on its heels is the Top Juice network, at number eight, with a turnover of $31,657,680 and growth of 148.2 percent.

Bucking the food trend, Supercheap Storage has brought in a more modest revenue ($7,987,387) than some other brands listed in the top 30, but its strong growth of 103.8 percent cemented its position at number 27.

Cuban-influenced casual dining franchise Coco Cubano boosted business by 97.5 percent, to bring in turnover of $19,697,661.

The food chain with a social conscience, Zambrero, was listed at 44. The Mexican fast food franchise brought in an income of $15,663,421, which was a growth of 76.7 percent.

The franchisor umbrella group Pacific Retail Management includes Go Sushi, Wasabi Warriors and Kick! Juice Bars. The focus on healthy eating has brought in a revenue of $5,872,276 for the group; that’s an increase of 61.2 percent that put Pacific Retail at number 67 in the list.

Just behind is Laser Clinics Australia, ranked at 69, with a growth of 58.8 percent. The beauty sector franchise had a revenue of $77,173,000.

As a comparison, the number one ranked business was Victorian based Online Education Services, which provides a student-centric approach to education. Its growth was a massive 383.5 percent. The top 10 companies included property development and investment, data management, technology services, online petcare retail.
