FineDays to be Aussie master franchise for EagleRider
Motorcycle renting company FineDays has announced its plans to be the Australian master franchise for motorcycle tourism and renting company EagleRider.
The company said it will have a flagship store in Sydney with a range of Harley Davidson models to start with, and there are plans to bring Triumph, Vespa, Victory and Indian on board as well.
FineDays CEO Will Keith is excited to bring EagleRider’s business model to Australia.
“Australia’s diversity and natural beauty represent the ride of a lifetime and will draw many adventure seeking motorcycle riders. We are the right people, in the right place at the right time,” he said.
FineDays has short term plans to expand to capital cities in Australia. It will also offer one way rentals through a national network of franchisees.
Keith said the company expects to have the first group of EagleRider franchises operating around spring this year.
For the Australian master franchise, the company is after stand alone franchises which can either be a re-branding of existing tours and rental businesses or a new location.
It is also looking for dealer franchises, which allows existing Original Equipment Manufacture (OEM) dealers to establish an EagleRider facility within their existing location, or resort franchises, where an EagleRider facility can be located within a guest’s hotel or resort.
Franchise fees vary between $10,000 and $40,000, including initial training. Franchise fees vary depending on market size, exclusivity, rental classes required and so on.
Other costs include software licensing (about $2,000 annually); signage, with costs up to $10,000; and initial merchandise inventory minimum, which can cost $5,000.
The role for the franchisee will include worldwide travel agency and tour operator bookings, 24-hour guided and self-guided tour support hotline and road side assistance, national and local marketing support, tour operations, and payment processing, reporting and royalty management.
The franchisee also needs to have showroom space large enough to display products and services for customers, storage space for EagleRider inventory, storage space for rental vehicle rotation and Internet and phone lines.
