Franchisees Michelle Lee and John Brock are celebrating the opening of Dymocks Highpoint, their fifth store. The pair have been franchisees in Victoria for 24 years and 30 years in Western Australia.

The opening of the new outlet helps build a strong presence for Dymocks in Melbourne and increases its network to 17 stores across the state.

Lee said. “The store looks fantastic and will become a destination zone for Highpoint booklovers. It’s designed as a vibrant, welcoming space for customers to mingle and browse the shelves. Dymocks is constantly evolving its store design to keep pace with today’s customer.”

The brand new Highpoint outlet takes the chain’s retail presence to a new high with sleek bookshelves and a modern light-filled interior.

New features include risers to increase stock density and digital display screens and signage which can be updated instantly. The use of timber cladding and other materials provides an architectural element to the storefront.

In keeping with customer demand, 15 per cent of the floor space will be merchandised for non-book product, with a strong emphasis on gifts, cards, wrap and stationery.

Lee is confident in the future of book retailing. “We pride ourselves on setting the standard in bookselling and Dymocks’ progressive retail approach has ensured its continued business success to this day,” she said.
