Inside Franchise Business: Crust Gourmet Pizza adds alcohol with pizza deliveryGold Coast franchisees are giving their customers an extra treat in time for Christmas.

Pizza lovers over the age of 18 can now order red or white wine, pale ale or cider delivered to their home thanks to Crust Gourmet Pizza Bar Broadbeach and Southport .

Franchisee Sam El-Debel said “Consumer research indicates that Australians are cooking at home less – not only is ordering home delivery on the rise, but Aussies are dining out at cafes and licensed restaurants more than ever before,” he said.

“We have handpicked a selection of wine, beer and cider that will complement our pizzas and our customers’ palates,”  El-Debel said.

The brand is planning to stock wine, beer and cider right across the country – pending licenses.

Crust’s delivery drivers will be required to apply RSA regulations on delivery.

Renee North, general manager of Crust, said “Pizza traditionally tends to be more of a dinner occasion. From a consumer perspective, with our premium brand, customers are much more likely to be enjoying a beer or a glass of wine with their pizza on a Friday night rather than a soft drink.

“From a franchisee perspective they’re happy to have an offer that’s relevant to the customer.

“It really is a really good fit for us.”
