Crust opens its first Gold Coast franchise

Crust Gourmet Pizza Bars has opened its first franchise on Queensland’s Gold Coast, in Reflections Tower Two in Coolangatta.

Sydneysiders Melanie and Michael Fitzgerald moved to the Gold Coast to open the store at the end of July 2009.

“Crust is the only takeaway pizza franchise in Australia to have earned the Heart Foundation Tick of approval on six healthier choice pizzas and we knew this would fit well with the active, health conscious lifestyle residents of the Gold Coast enjoy,” said Melanie.

The new Upper Crust menu comprising six ultra-premium pizzas that are designed to share was launched in February and is the brainchild of Crust’s creative chef, Peter Augoustis.

“The range boasts the kind of ingredients you would expect to see on a restaurant menu including slow cooked braised lamb and caramelised figs stuffed with mascarpone,” he said.
