Work has begun on the Quest site at Melbourne Airport, an event marked by an official sod-turning ceremony with Paul Constantinou, chairman, Quest Serviced Apartments.

Constantinou said that having quality business style accommodation in close proximity to the airport was a logical next step for the company.

“There are more than 14,000 people employed in roles supported by Melbourne Airport. Combine this with the 30 million people who pass through the airport each year, and there is a strong need for the quality accommodation that Quest supply,” Constantinou said.

“We make it our business to deliver capacity for growing markets, and are doing so by expanding our network significantly. In the next 12 months we are planning to open eight new properties. Commencing construction today here at Melbourne Airport is yet another milestone in our growth strategy,” he added.

Melbourne Airport CEO, Chris Woodruff, said the project would help to meet the growing demand for serviced accommodation from companies and organisations with operations at the airport, or were doing business with airport or aviation related companies located at Melbourne Airport.

“Providing more accommodation choice for people doing business at the airport, or are undertaking aviation training in the airport precinct, will support the future growth of these businesses in our local region,” Woodruff said.

The 97 room property will compromise of studio, one, two and three bedroom serviced apartments. Apartments are fully equipped with a kitchen, laundry, Foxtel, LCD TV and WIFI.

Guests will have access to conference facilities, gymnasium, BBQ area and Quest services such as pantry shopping, dry cleaning, restaurant charge-back, baby-sitting booking and business administration.
