Cuban bar/cafe chain, Coco Cubano, has opened in Sydney’s Crows Nest and franchisees Bohdana and Andrew Clancy are excited about their drastic career change.

Bohdana worked in the media while Andrew left his job in carpentry to launch and manage the venue.

“We love the food, culture and vibe of Cuba and went there on our honeymoon. The Cuban experience provided by Coco Cubano is really appealing and opening a cantina with an exotic menu of specialty-sourced food and beverages, from breakfast through to late night snacks, is something that excited us,” said Bohdana.

The couple says Coco Cubano will be a welcome addition to the area, offering longer trading hours and a wide range of menu options.

Located on the corner of Clarke and Willoughby Road, the cantina will offer a breakfast, lunch and tapas menu as well as coffees and hot chocolate blends available until midnight and Cuban-inspired cocktails as the weather warms up.

For those looking for a drink after work, Coco Cubano is offering $9 tapas and cocktails from 5pm-8pm Monday to Thursday and it also stocks a large selection of boutique beers and Latin wines.

Coco Cubano founder, Tony Melhem said, “Inspired by the rustic charm and passion which defines Cuban culture, this new venue brings a friendly, relaxed, yet sophisticated drinking and dining experience for locals. With extensive alfresco dining and positioning in the best nook on the strip, the venue will surely become the number one place to see and be seen.

“We are really excited to partner and work with Bohdana and Andrew Clancy in Crow’s Nest. They are passionate about hospitality, Cuba and the Coco Cubano experience. We believe that they will create a fun and friendly environment and will become an integral part of the community,” said Melhem.
