Café2U offers its services in the Brisbane storms

Mobile coffee franchise Cafe2U offered free hot beverages to SES workers in the wake of last night’s storms in Brisbane. Two CafŽ2U vans were on site, each aided by a member of the Salvation Army, while National Foods donated milk. Emergency services, charities and local businesses all pulled together in a bid to offer assistance to those affected by the storms, thought to have caused hundreds of millions of dollars worth of damage.

Derek Black, general manager of operation of CafŽ2U, said they jumped at the chance to be involved in this community support network. “We have a great relationship with the Salvation Army and when they asked if we could take part in such a community effort, we didn’t hesitate.” Black continued, “Many, many people gave up their time to ease the burden and help out, we were merely a small part of that over effort.”
