The business founded by Tina Tower in 2008 was acquired by New Zealand based charitable trust Cognition Education in July this year.

This has given the business the expertise and financial capacity to take the early learning program to the next level.

Tower remains with the business, taking on the role of business development.

The skill set required for a start up and the gumption required is very different from the skills needed for growth and management,” Tower told Franchise Business. “I can step aside to let the big guns with the knowledge drive the business and do operations.”

The business has opened four outlets in the last five months but will need to step up the pace to meet its goal of 50 new franchises next year.

Begin Bright’s model is now attracting investors, not just teachers, as franchisees. Another change is the opportunity for franchisees to own more than one franchise unit.

“We will have new marketing collateral, booking system and website. All things that required capital investment,” says Tower.

Plans for overseas expansion are based around Cognition Education’s footprint in 35 countries.
