Barista machine franchise recruiting for 1000 franchises nationally

Sarah Stowe

A new barista machine franchise is planning to open 1000 franchises nationally in the next 12 months, with a focus on metropolitan areas.

Jonnee Coffee, a computerised barista machine business, is an up-and-coming brand in the franchising sector, which made an appearance at the Melbourne franchising expo.

“Since the expo, we’ve signed up over 20 franchisees,” said Johnny Flammea, founder and CEO.

And it doesn’t end there. The business is gearing up for ambitious national growth after interest in Brisbane, Sydney and Tasmania.

“Our target is to sign 1000 franchises in the next 12 months,” he added.

Metropolitan sites will be a focus nationally for the passive business which runs under two models – the rental and joint venture partnership.

The initial investment of a Jonnee Coffee franchise is $13,600 + GST under joint venture partnership. Franchisees retain full profit for the first 12 months, and after this time, profits are split in half with the franchisor. Under the rental model, operators pay $15/day for a five year term, taking the investment to $30,112.50 over the agreement period. Both models come with a fixed profit per $1.50 of a $2.80 cup of coffee, where the remaining $1.30 is retained by the franchisor for stock, fill, maintenance, reporting, administration and marketing.

“The only job potential franchisees have to do is find the site,” said Flammea.

And who is a potential franchisee?

“I think anyone can do it,” he said.
