Pizza franchise, Domino’s Pizza, has added another pillar to its digital platform with the launch of its Android App, allowing anyone with an Android device to place an order anywhere, anytime.

CEO of Domino’s, Don Meij, said the flexibility of the Android system has allowed them to add additional features to the app.

“The include GPS location services for pick up orders, a widget for customers to receive the latest offers and Pizza Tracker updates and also utilisation of Android’s status bar to provide live updates of an order’s progress,” he said.

He added that the App was one of the most advanced Android Apps in Australia and the company expected to see strong results.

“We are very proud of this new App and we are confident we will see similar downloads and sales success as we did with the launch of our iPhone App in late 2009.”

With more than 40 percent of sales already online Domino’s will continue to invest in its digital platform with the expectation of digital orders providing 60 percent of the business within two years.

“What’s even more exciting is our goal to have more than half of our digital sales coming from a portable device such as a mobile or tablet. This will mean more than 25 percent of our total sales are from customers who are using new hand-held technologies to order their favourite things,” said Meij.
