The Laser Lounge will add 10 clinics to its portfolio next yearThe Laser Lounge franchise chain is to expand with 10 clinics next year.

Six outlets will be opened within six months and the Sydney-based business is targeting ACT, NSW, Queensland, Victoria and South Australia for development.

Already there are 10 clinics in the portfolio including two in Queensland and one in South Australia. Two of the outlets are company-owned.

“We are looking for high quality franchise partners, people who have a passion for health and beauty,” said Gita Coorey, co-founder of the business which launched as a boutique clinic in suburban Castle Hill in 2008.

Ideal franchisees for this growing business are dermal therapists, nurses and doctors because the equipment at the core of the business proposition is premium medical grade apparatus.

Prospective franchisees who have a laser safety certificate will find themselves at an advantage but there is a lot of practical help available for franchisees to achieve the right certification.

The Laser Lounge also attracts investor franchisees whose hands-on role is limited to assisting management.

“A few had been franchisees in other sectors, some have come from marketing, management or tech backgrounds in successful businesses,” said Coorey.

The business has been recently restructured to emphasise its clinical components.

“We took time out to look at strategy. We’ve introduced a clinical medical team which is actively involved in the business,” said Coorey.

In such a technical arena, education is a prime concern and The Laser Lounge provides ongoing support and coaching on issues such as how to handle treatment recommendations, customer service, and what happens if there are complications.

A partnership with an accredited organisation, the Australasian Academy of Cosmetic Dermal Science, allows The Laser Lounge to teach students to a high level.

The franchise has also teamed up with reconstructive and cosmetic surgeons, providing clients with access to more advanced procedures.
