Find out which franchise has made a $1.5m investment set to drive franchisee growth and profit.

Books and Gifts Direct has launched a new website and e-commerce platform which will allow franchisees to broaden their customer base and increase sales in the workplaces they currently visit.

To date, products were sold exclusively through the franchise network placed on display at workplaces on the fortnightly rotation and filled every two weeks.

The $1.5m investment took more than 18 months in planning and development.

“The new site now opens up our entire range of products to our customers while still utilising the superb service of our franchisees who still make the deliveries free of charge to the workplace,” said Joseph Craven, managing director.

“The online store will also open up opportunities for our franchisees with new customers that we otherwise would not have been able to service.

“The end result is better service for our customers and more opportunities for our franchisees to grow their business.”

Craven said the business will continue to handpick the best books and gifts to be sold directly to consumers through a secure online ordering process.

“The platform is user friendly ensuring the order process is simple and efficient for our customers and partners,” he said.

“The goal is to offer a more personalised and accessible shopping experience for our customers with enhanced search and navigation functionality.”

Books and Gifts Direct is a locally owned and operated online book store in Australia with an existing network of 200 franchisees and distributors. It also operates in New Zealand.
