The Energy Star Rating now applies to the swimming pool industry. Consumers are all aware of the star rating on household white goods such as fridges, dishwashers, and washing machines.

These star ratings, regulated by the Australian Government under the MEPS scheme, now apply to pumps sold for swimming pools and spas.

AstralPool Australia, manufacturer of the energy efficient pumps, has embraced the need for energy efficiency. They are leading the way and have altered the speed configuration on the already highly efficient Viron P300 energy efficient pumps.

These new changes achieve an 8 Star rating for the Viron P300, classifying it in the “Super Efficient Rating” group. In particular, Pool Franchises report that they are ideal for systems in close proximity to the pool and when a cartridge filter is used.

For all Viron P300 pumps manufactured from 1st October 2010 the new speed setting is now eco-friendly. They are suitable for the general day to day operation of the pools where no suction cleaner is connected.
