“Touch Up” Business moves from Automotive Niche Market to Major Industry
The “cosmetic collision repair” industry has grown from a niche market to a major industry that generates more than $300 million per annum in Australia, according to the Touch Up Guys automotive franchises.
In the early 90s, the “touch up” business was considered a niche sector of the market, which provided on-site paint and plastic repairs in the commercial motor vehicle sales industry.
However, having minor repairs performed on-site helped saved time and expenses, which was a more effective solution over losing the vehicle for several days to a traditional paint and panel shop.
After twenty years in the business, Touch Up Guys boasts to have the largest “touch up” fleet in Australia, with over 100 vans in operation.
The cosmetic collision repair services include bumper repairs, minor paint repairs (scratches and stone chips), as well as minor dents to the metal panels. A number of the Touch Up Guy’s car maintenance franchises also offer the Paintless Dent Removal service.
As the cosmetic collision repair industry grows, the Touch Up Guys Australia car detailing franchises are seeking to expand their fleet to 300 vans in the next seven years.
