The Toni & Guy Hairdressing franchise launched its ‘Expressionism’ collection in October at Alexandra Palace in London. On November 6, the hair styling business launched the new season collection of ‘Expressionism’ in Australia. With this launch at Paddington, there was a celebration of talent, creativity and vision of the health and beauty franchise.

‘Expressionism’ is the international collection from Toni & Guy Hairdressing. It is a concept that is created to encourage freedom and ‘expression.’ There are samples suggested for shapes, lengths and shades, and are left to be interpreted by the sophisticated stylists and technicians.

At the London launch of ‘Expressionism’ there was a show dubbed ‘Mainstage’ that involved a 100-foot catwalk, Alexander McQueen’s ten couture designs and was attended by 3000 staff of Toni & Guy Hairdressing from all over the world. In Australia, the show involved the top teams in creative styling and technical expertise.

In Australia, Jane Stacey is Toni & Guy Hairdressing’s Creative Technical Director and Sonia Lyon, the Creative Artistic Director. They lead a talented team of hair stylists and technicians, and Bronwyn Illingworth, the Art Director based in New Zealand, was a special guest at the show. The team from the health and beauty franchise recreated the amazing styles of Mainstage UK’s Expressionism, under the expert guidance of Education Director and Managing Director Dennis Langford.

Expressionism from Toni & Guy Hairdressing is said to be “the inspiration for this beautiful new collection are borne from the foundations of the minimalist artistic movement in the 1960s. Gallery artists of that period garnered their inspiration from street art, which was more accessible for the public. This strong foundation of creative expression came full circle when high art returned to the streets, through catwalk session under the expertise of the hairdressing business. 12.11.2007
