Telcoinabox telecommunications franchises to offer Engin VoIP products

A significant new deal has been signed between Telcoinabox and Australian-owned VoIP provider Engin that will enhance the range of products and services offered by the telecommunications franchises.

The deal enables Telcoinabox to resell SIP trunks, consumer Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services, and a hosted PBX solution to businesses, and will be available to all of the company’s telecommunications franchises nationally by April 2011.

Telcoinabox CEO Paul Line says that the launch is the company’s most important yet.

“Our service providers are now equipped to offer the SME market with an internationally-recognised platform for VoIP services at extremely competitive pricing that significantly reduces the need for capital investment and does away with old-school onsite systems that take up office space and chew up cash,” he explains.

An extensive review of potential wholesale vendors was undertaken by Telcoinabox, with the company selecting Engin for its:

• reliable platform
• clear development upgrade path
• full B2B connectivity for provisioning and service management
• flexibility to white-label; and
• the cultural fit between the two companies.

“Telcoinabox has a unique and very successful go-to-market model, which prioritises both customer service and value for money, which we are very pleased to support,” he comments.

The two companies are currently identifying additional opportunities to work together, including joint venture arrangements.

Engin services will initially be delivered over the existing Telcoinabox ADSL2+ and SHDSL network, and will be migrated to the National Broadband Network as it becomes available.

The VoIP products offered by the telecommunications franchises are based on the Broadsoft platform, which is currently used by 425 service providers worldwide, including 15 of the world’s top 25 carriers.
