While new operators do not necessarily need experience in the industry, Phillip Grace brought with him some expertise when he joined the network of Car Care Australia car cleaning franchises, having previously worked as a spray painter and panel beater, where he would often detail cars.

That experience, and a desire to leave his position as a retail manager and become his own boss led Phillip to investigate the car cleaning franchises, which he says presented a business model that was easy to set up, with minimal upfront costs.

Servicing the Springwood and Logan regions in Queensland, Phillip provides “a very friendly service”, and says the best part of his day is having satisfied customers.

Phillip obviously takes pride in his role within the network of car cleaning franchises, explaining that “Car Care carries its own power and water which is fabulous. All our operators are trained to the highest standard.”

Business is booming too, with Phillip finding his biggest challenge to be keeping up with the interest from the public in his services. “Everyone wants their cars done now,” he says.

With the flexibility offered by the car detailing franchises, Phillip enjoys the freedom to choose his own hours and be his own boss, confident in the knowledge that he is financially independent.

There are some perks that come with the position too, as Phillip notes.

“My most memorable moment as Car Care franchisee is working at the different car shows, cleaning and driving the latest model cars,” he says.
