Spectrum Analysis business consultants release new population data
Spectrum Analysis have created a new database at Census Collection District (CCD) level that provides an estimate of updated population and household numbers.
The most recent official figures relating to population and household figures are contained in the Census 2006, so this new database offers an updated analysis of projected current figures.
Managing Director of Spectrum Analysis business consultants, Peter Buckingham, notes that while nothing can replace the accuracy of an official full census, many business realise that until Census 2011 is released, they are relying on information that is four years old.
“Our best understanding is C2011 will be released in late 2012, so we have 18 months approximately where we have the choice of Census 2006, or some form of updated information,” he says.
The new Spectrum Analysis population data is available for licensing into existing GIS systems, or as a licence the business consultants will issue to their existing and future customers, committing to use the new databases on all jobs that they require.
The market analysis specialists anticipate three further updates to this data before the 2011 Census data is finally released.
