Social media contributes to success of online nutritional calculator for Mad Mex Fresh Mexican Grill franchises

Mad Mex Fresh Mexican Grill launched a new online and mobile nutritional calculator in December 2010, with the intention of educating customers of its grill franchises on the health benefits of the brand’s fresh Mexican food.

Since then, the site has attracted more than 10,000 unique visitors, and the nutritional calculator has been accessed over 3,000 times.

Social media played a significant role in the success of the launch, the company says, particularly for the mobile site where 74.4% of hits were unique visitors.

The calculator, which can be shared via Twitter and Facebook, is presented in a straight forward format that allows customers of the grill franchises to obtain full nutritional information for their meal according to item, fillings, salsa and extras.

In addition to the new service, Mad Mex is running a promotion across its network of Mexican restaurant franchises throughout January, offering $2 off its range of naked burritos.
