Snap promotes a work-life balance amongst their franchise network
Fitness and a work-life balance is ingrained in the culture of Snap printing and copying franchises with CEO Grant Vernon set to compete against some of the world’s elite runners at the Boston Marathon in the USA on the April 18.
Grant has managed to fit in a rigorous training program, running an average of 70kms a week, while leading the printing franchise through a period of change including launching the Snap Level 2 marketing brand.
“My training has not always been easy, physically or mentally, but it has been a great way to counter the pressures of running a franchise network,” said the former AFL umpire who has competed in two Ironman Triathlons.
Grant said the Snap network has many similar stories.
“It is a culture that pervades every level of Snap, from the Board through to the centres,” Grant said.
“What we are finding is that these people, who complete marathons and ironman triathlons, are inspiring others to take up running or sport and have a go.”
In 2008, Snap Printing and Copying franchises entered a large corporate contingent, three teams and fourteen individuals, in the Busselton Ironman Triathlon. Others have taken part in triathlons throughout Australia.
Allan Edmondson, owner of the Rockdale franchise, regularly competes in the Ironman and Half Ironman circuit with his sons, Snap’s Chief Operating Officer Steve Edwards and General Manager of Franchising, Steve Southwell.
Suze Watt, Snap Franchising board member, managed to make it to the Triathlon World Championships in Vancouver.
Brian Thompson, owner of Snap franchises for more than 30 years is a serious cycling enthusiast and has been able to pursue his passion for cycling while managing his printing and copying franchise.
Brian rides approximately 500km a week and participated in a six week 3100km bicycle tour from St. Petersburg to Venice called The Amber Route last year. He had already completed several European cycling tours including a tour of the Pyrenees.
