Robust half year profits announced by Dominos Pizza Enterprises

Dominos Pizza Enterprises has today released details of half year profits generated through its network of take away franchises and company stores, reporting a 16.9% increase on the corresponding period last year.

The $10.2 million Net Profit After Tax, the company states, was a result of strong core operations which saw Same Store Sales (SSS) growth of 9.1% when compared to the same period last year.

Dominos take away franchises and company stores in Australia and New Zealand reported double digit SSS growth of 10.9% for the first half of the 2011 financial year, with Australia achieving its strongest SSS in the last eight years.

Solid SSS growth was also reported in the European market, with a 4.7% increase on results from the first half of last year.

CEO and Managing Director of Dominos, Don Meij, says the strong first half results were bolstered by successful product launches in Australia and New Zealand.

In addition, he notes that the company has “seen significant results from our focus on improving the quality of our core pizzas and offering them at great value prices to our customers.”

Dominos take away franchises can expect further product rollouts looking forward, Mr Meij says, with a well developed plan for the remainder of 2011 in place that will include adapting Australian and New Zealand programs for the European market.

The company is also confident of solid growth in the second half of 2011, having experienced record enquiries regarding opportunities for new pizza franchises in recent months.

“We are on track to open 60 new stores this financial year and we are very impressed with the number of new franchisee enquires we are getting in Australia in particular,” Mr Meij explains.

“This interest will help spearhead our corporate store sell down and new store openings over the next six months.”

Commenting on new product promotions in the pipeline, Mr Meij noted that Dominos will launch a ‘Better Meatlovers’ promotion across its Australian take away franchises later this month.
