Pacnet announces launch of a new cloud-based storage service to it's range of business communications solutions
Telecommunications service provider Pacnet , today announced the launch of another product in their range of IT solutions. Pacnet DataVault is a new cloud-based data storage service which simplifies data backup and storage for today’s growing businesses.
The launch marks another milestone in Pacnet’s history of telecommunications and IT solutions provision.
Senior Vice President of Product Strategy and Management, Chris Wilson said. “With the rapidly growing amount of emails, documents and images that businesses generate today, many customers are now grappling with the complexities that accompany the need to back up swelling data archives in order to ensure business continuity as well as to meet regulatory requirements.
“Pacnet DataVault, the latest offering in our suite of cloud computing solutions, delivers the automated data backup solution demanded by today’s businesses that allows them to forget about data backup tasks, and focus on running their business."
After installing the Pacnet Datavault client software onto the user's computer, data can be stored automatically to a cloud on the Pacnet Datavault servers. Simplifying business communications, the backed up data is protected on and off site and can be accessed anywhere at anytime.
Pacnet DataVault utilizes advanced military-grade encryption supporting either managed 448-bit Blowfish encryption, or private key encryption to ensure that the users data is securely transferred and stored.
While backups can be automated, Pacnet DataVault can also customize business communications by offering users the flexibility to schedule backups as well as enabling backup to a local device such as an external hard disk drive. Users can choose to back up new files, files that have changed or entire data volumes. Customers are also able to upgrade their storage requirements on demand in 5GB increments as their business communications needs change.
A pay-as-you-go pricing model means deploying Pacnet DataVault is simple and cost-effective as there is no high initial capital expense that is often associated with acquiring hardware-based backup IT Solutions.
Pacnet DataVault is powered by Mozy, the industry-leading online backup service from EMC Corporation. The business communications solution is available now in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand and will be available across other Pacnet locations later this year.
