Mr Rental announces new Managing Director
Mr Rental has appointed former The Coffee Club Group CEO, James Nixon-Smith, as the new Managing Director after the rental franchise underwent a corporate restructure to drive the company’s growth strategy.
James Nixon-Smith has a successful track record, spanning more than twenty years, in the Australian franchising industry and have been affiliated with many known franchises including Battery World, Egal Boys Pizza and Caltex.
Nixon-Smith will be replacing Alan Payne who has moved to head up the Mr Rental’s newly created international division.
“Mr Rental is implementing a number of strategies to drive strong domestic growth and with plans for further international expansion it’s a fantastic opportunity for me to join and I’m looking forward to the challenge,” said Nixon-Smith.
“I hope to bring my experience in business development, team development and change management to the table as we go through our next growth period. This year alone we expect to open 14 stores to our current 91 across Australia and New Zealand.”
According to Nixon-Smith, the new international division would investigate the feasibility of overseas markets but Mr Rental’s focus will still remain on current markets.
“Mr Rental’s business model has huge potential overseas but it’s about determining the best strategy to enter each market,” said Nixon-Smith.
“We’ve attracted a lot of overseas attention with recent awards and we’ve had a number of approaches but at this stage it’s important to continue the 20-25 percent average year-on-year revenue growth in current markets to ensure we’re in good stead to head overseas.”
Nixon-Smith said it was an exciting time to join Mr Rental and their rental franchises network.
