Melbourne franchisee embraces working from home with Breeze Photos photography franchises

Working from home was a big selling point for Murray Kingston Yates when he decided to set up his own business with Breeze Photos photography franchises in outer east Melbourne.

Having worked for a large multinational company for over twenty years, Murray explains that he was looking for a sound investment that allowed him to take control of his future when Breeze Photos caught his eye.

“I had a natural interest in the fundamentals of the business,” he says. “It was a work from home business and I found that very appealing after many years of commuting. The start-up costs were reasonable and the perceived risks not as high as some franchises I had looked at.”

Once he had made the decision to join the network of photography franchises, Murray says he received an intensive one week of initial training on site at his own studio, equipping him with the skills needed to pursue his new career.

“The week was invaluable in terms of the skills transfer and ongoing discussion and learning that took place. Training covered the use of necessary tools and equipment required to produce a quality result,” he reflects.

The support from Breeze Photos did not end there, Murray adds, with ongoing phone and email support available whenever he needs it.

He explains that he has “used the support extensively. Discussions over the phone have ranged from just a few minutes when I have had something very specific to ask to an hour when important elements of my business need to be discussed.”

Without a two hour commute each day, Murray says that he has certainly noticed an improvement in his work/life balance since joining the photography services franchises.

He admits that “some of the hours have been longer due to some urgent customer requests,” but without a two hour commute to work every day, he now has more time to spend with his family.

Even when he does have to work longer hours, Murray concludes, it has not been a major problem because he enjoys the core work, and with his future now firmly under his own control, he plans to grow his new business well into the future.
