Manhattan the perfect launch pad for Pie Face franchises
In a recent article, former Salomon Smith Barney-Citigroup media and telecommunications banker, Pie Face co-founder Wayne Homschek, gave reasons as to why New York would be the perfect launch pad for Pie Face and the company's future initial public offering in 2013.
Homschek introduced the Pie Face bakery/cafe franchise to Australia in 2003. There are currently 75 stores in Australia and the first New York store was opened in January 2012.
According to the article, Homschek and his wife chose the United States as it is "by far the largest restaurant market in the world", reportedly worth a whopping US$6 billion.
Homschek has plans to open at least three more Pie Face franchises in Manhattan by the end of this year, and another 12 in 2013.
Furthermore, Homschek hopes to cement its place in the bakery/cafe franchise industry by launching stores in Miami, Chicago, Washington, Boston, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Las Vegas in 2014.
