Launching Franchisemart – Australia's most innovative Franchise matchmakers
FranchiseMart is the ultimate venue where potential franchisee’s go to explore and research opportunities and choose a franchise business that suits their lifestyle and help them gain financial freedom.
With over 100 businesses in their portfolio, FranchiseMart cuts through the complicated search process for those looking to own their own franchise, and is a meeting point for both franchisors and those interested in buying a franchise.
An initiative of Gareth Grant, Managing Director and Justin Kirkland, General Manager, FranchiseMart is set to pave the way for potential franchisee’s wanting to take charge of their future.
Launching as a relaxed retail environment in Crows Nest, Gareth and Kirkland are thrilled to have enlisted the support of Joe Hockey MP, the Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations and Local Member for North Sydney, who will officially launch the first of many FranchiseMart offices around Australia.
Mr. Hockey congratulated FranchiseMart on establishing itself in Crows Nest which is a vibrant part of his North Sydney electorate. Mr. Hockey said he was “always happy to support small businesses establish themselves in our area and across Australia.”
According to the Franchise Council of Australia the industry contributes to 14% of the countries GDP and employs around 426,000 people. Making sense of information to select the right franchise is often tricky and it has become increasingly difficult, time consuming and costly to filter through the internet, newspapers and business brokers.
FranchiseMart is designed to cut through masses of information and guide a franchisee through the steps of selecting, buying and managing a franchise. “We saw how hard it was to find information on sourcing good business opportunities,” says Grant. “So in setting up FranchiseMart, we first researched thousands of franchises and hand selected the best companies in todays most popular and successful industries, and then we set about really getting to know these franchises inside and out.”
Acting as a strategic partner to assist both parties marry up to the right franchise, FranchiseMart are independent consultants who do not recommend any particular franchise over another in order to find the best possible match for everyone.
Franchise opportunities range from home-based businesses to retail ventures, such as Sleepy’s The Mattress Experts, Worldwide On Line Printing, through to 1800-Got-Junk and Sign*A*Rama, where Grant was the highest selling franchise owner from 2000 to 2006, and was recently rated as the 31st fastest growing business by BRW.
It is Kirkland’s background in human resources recruitment that has helped FranchiseMart cut through a lot of the processes involved in putting people together and create the Smart Match Q&A tools that helps a franchisee make an informed decision.
“We developed a unique and incisive Q&A process, so after asking a comprehensive range of questions such as background, personal interests, and investment levels we can narrow it down to five or six businesses that may suit,” says Kirkland.
“For example, you would be surprised the number of people who initially like the idea of a mobile type of business but actually don’t really enjoy driving.”
Once narrowed down, FranchiseMart then take a client through each franchise in a one-on-one environment showing videos, brochures, internet sites and seminars to dig deeper into the workings of the business prior to meeting the Franchisor.
Having belief in this Smart Match system FranchiseMart’s initial consultation is free, and on-going clients pay a once off fee for follow-up consultations at $149.00.
Steve Bianchini, a PE teacher from Northern Beaches, is looking to make the leap into being a franchise owner. “Gareth first helped me clarify what I wanted in a business, so I only saw franchises that are qualified and relevant to my needs rather than look at 50. I’m still working full time so what made it easier was that they helped facilitate a neutral environment where I could discuss in-depth details on several franchise systems first and then meet the Franchisors.”
“I’m now seriously interested in one particular franchise, and I feel more confident in making the right decision. I think that if anyone is serious about starting a franchise then it’s definitely the way to go,” says Bianchini. 29.11.2007
