Jumping J-Jays success story
From a simple idea, triggered by the sight of an inflatable castle in his neighbour’s backyard, Jumping J-Jays has today grown to become a renowned national corporation, appearing in such publications as the Financial Review, the Redcliffe Herald and the Geelong Advertiser.
“My wife Jane and I were looking to supplement our income and jumping castle hire seemed ideal: it was weekend work; it was simple, easy and clean,” says Newton.
Jumping J-Jays has experienced incredible growth since its establishment, originally comprising of 20 castles, to today’s operation of 700 castles, available in 30 different themes.
Newton admits that marketing was a large part of the success of his jumping castle franchise, saying “We arranged advertising posters, artwork, video production and direct mail lists. Since then we have become even more creative in our marketing spend- a combination of light boxes, neon and full digital printing”.
Newton has major plans for expansion in 2007 saying “We are already the world’s largest holder of inflatable amusements, and we only operate in Australia and New Zealand. Imagine the possibilities when we head to the other side of the world!”
