Jetts Fitness franchise offer corporate executive work-life balance
As a long term executive for Rio Tinto, Tony Flynn found he had positioned himself well in his work life but long work hours and international travel left little time to enjoy his family and socialise. Jetts Fitness franchise offered Tony the opportunity to get the balance back and enjoy the lifestyle he had created for his family.
“I started looking for business opportunities but did not really have a plan.
“A friend of mine introduced me to Jetts, and the concept struck a chord with me straight away – what impressed me was the fact that I could own a business in a field I enjoy and not have to work 70 hours per week to support my family and to create the lifestyle we all desired.
“For me that was a key aspect of the Jetts opportunity,” he said.
After going through his diligence and the new Franchise process, Tony took on the challenge, and opened his first fitness franchise in Perth, Western Australia. Since then he hasn’t looked back, and now operates 4 fitness franchises with plans for more to come.
“The first club was the challenge.
“Taking the step into our first business was always going to be a risk and was fraught with emotion, however the simplicity of the Jetts model and the support at hand meant the process was manageable.
“Once open the time commitment was minimal – 5 hours per week to manage staff, maintain the accounts and banking and to ensure the club was operating to plan,” he said.
Tony even managed to keep his day job while operating Jetts during peak season. He loves working a position that has such a positive impact on his clients’ lives and health and fitness.
“But above all else, I enjoy the freedom.
“I get more time with my family and I get to make the key decisions around the business, without being in the business.
“The free time has allowed me to set up a consulting business in my field and to be selective around projects that I am interested in.
“The balance is perfect,” he said.
