Overview

Have you ever dreamed of being your own boss? At some stage or another most of us have had that dream. We would like to be in a situation where our skills, hard work and expertise benefit us, instead of someone else.

The problem that most people encounter is not the dream, but rather putting the dream into practice. The most commonly quoted figure in relation to this, is that up to ninety percent, of small businesses, go out of business in the first five years of operation. These people leave with their dreams in tatters, and often also with their personal relationships and financial affairs in disarray. Franchising, and Stacks of Snacks in particular, offer the individual a means of starting their own business with the systems, procedures and support, to help them achieve personal and financial success.

Stacks of Snacks operates in the high demand, high volume area of workplace based snack foods. Stacks of Snacks franchisees site, place and service perspex snack boxes filled with a variety of pick ‘n mix chocolate confectionery.

A Stacks of Snacks franchise allows you the opportunity to be in business for yourself, but not by yourself. Stacks of Snacks are committed to franchising excellence; incorporating ongoing development, excellence of operations, personal development and wealth creation.

The Beginning

Like many successful businesses Stacks of Snacks began as a simple idea. Anne Coogan – the Stacks of Snacks National Franchise Manager saw the niche area of workplace snacks and vending franchises, as a high potential area, in which she could start her own home-based business.

The Stacks of Snacks business concept was developed and implemented in Darwin, Northern Territory. Over time the snack franchise business format evolved and changed. From its original concept, the business has evolved and grown in expertise, sophistication, information management and professionalism.

Stacks of Snacks, whilst offering franchises Australia wide is based in Melbourne and is a member of the Franchise Council of Australia (FAC).

Stacks of Snacks has a long-term relationship with the Multiple Sclerosis Society (MS AUSTRALIA) in which we co-brand every snack box with both MS Society and Stacks of Snacks logos and name. MS AUSTRALIA is paid a royalty on all confectionery.

The business relationship is a definite win/win for both parties.

MS AUSTRALIA is one of Australia’s leading charities. MS AUSTRALIA and their State and Regional based MS Societies have a large national, state and local presence and their involvement with Stacks of Snacks is a positive reflection on the professionalism of the franchise system.

What does the business involve?

Firstly, all potential franchisees must satisfy the Stacks of Snacks selection criteria, before becoming a franchisee. After the set up phase of equipment purchase and intensive training, the franchisee will be responsible for their franchise in a particular geographic territory.

The franchisee is to:
  • site snack boxes in work places
  • service snack boxes
  • manage data base records
  • count and bank money
  • report to the franchisor
  • undergo further training and personal development
  • set personal goals and targets

What is a Stacks of Snacks franchise?

A Stacks of Snacks franchise is the opportunity for the right individual / couple to create a business for themselves, with the full training, support, systems and buying power of a franchise group.

Stacks of Snacks is a turn key operation. That is the franchisor assists in all aspects of setting up operations of your business. That is everything from the refrigerated delivery van to the perspex snack boxes etc.

Every Stacks of Snacks franchise is issued for ten (10) years. Each franchisee is allocated a specific geographic territory. The individual franchisee is only able to operate within the bounds of their territory. This protects the individual franchisee and allows for franchisees to work together, rather than in competition with each other. The territory has been calculated according to a Stacks of Snacks business formula, which will be outlined, should you wish to proceed as a franchisee.

The Target Market

Stacks of Snacks boxes can be placed in a wide variety of workplaces. These range across the full spectrum of workplaces. Some of these sites include public service offices, hospitals, schools, doctors surgeries, workshops, research labs, defence facilities, call centres, garages, clubs, manufacturing facilities and transport depots. This is only a small selection of possible suitable sites. Stacks of Snacks assists the franchisee with site identification and further siting, and system-wide data base management.

Stacks of Snacks offers:

  • outstanding systems & procedures
  • state of the art, data base management systems
  • a tested business format
  • comprehensive operations manuals
  • the collective purchasing power of a major confectionery customer
  • extensive training
  • effective follow up
  • personal support
  • ongoing benchmarking, development & growth
  • a dynamic and innovative franchise system
  • the opportunity to create a successful business and independent lifestyle.

The Franchisee Profile

Stacks of Snacks is looking for unique individuals / couples to become franchisees. Becoming a franchisee is a major step for both the franchisee and the franchisor.

As a franchisee you will be responsible for running your own business, within the system and framework of the franchise. The franchisee has the use of Stacks of Snacks brands and trademarks.

As in all franchise systems the franchisee has responsibilities to themselves, fellow franchisees, the franchisor and the corporate brand. To protect all of these stakeholders in the business, we take great care and deliberation, in our selection of suitable franchisees.

To be a successful franchisee with Stacks of Snacks you will need to:

  • have a sound capital base to establish ownership of the business
  • enjoy meeting people and building relationships
  • be an effective communicator
  • be genuinely committed to building your business around satisfied customers
  • be fully committed to running the business in a “hands on” manner
  • be a willing learner
  • be able to plan and organise your own and others work schedule
  • be motivated by achieving challenging goals.

The selection process enables us to identify the most suitable franchisees for our business. If you feel that the above attributes describe you, please contact us for further information.

Franchise Selection Process

The following process is followed so that both Stacks of Snacks and the intending franchisee, are fully informed about and confident in the business and the opportunity it provides.

1. An Information Pack sent to intending franchisee.
2. The application is completed and submitted by intending franchisee.
3. A Franchise Planning Kit is sent to intending franchisee. This Kit also contains the Stacks of Snacks Disclosure Document.
4. Discovery Day – on which the intending franchisee spends half to a full day with an operating franchisee as an opportunity to better assess its business potential.
5. Financial Assessment – by which Stacks of Snacks requires the intending franchisee’s accountant to verify that the applicant has the capital to fund the purchase and operation of a franchise.
6. Stacks of Snacks conducts a lengthy (approx. 2 hour) interview with the applicant to assess his/her suitability as a franchisee.
7. A Franchise Agreement is sent to the intending franchisee. This is a legal document and agreement between Stacks of Snacks and the franchisee. The applicant should have a legal advisor check this contract with him/her. 8. The Franchise Agreement is signed and all fees and charges are paid.
9. Equipment is ordered.
10. Training commences.
11. The Franchisee commences business. There is no financial penalty or cost to the applicant if at any stage prior to the signing of the Franchise Agreement.
The applicant (or Stacks of Snacks) may decide not to proceed. Stacks of Snacks desires fully informed, highly motivated people for this exciting business opportunity.
