Independent Queensland operator added to network of Sign A Rama signage franchises

Sign A Rama has added the first independent operator to its network of signage franchises, with plans announced to convert several more in the near future.

Justin and Kerryn Brown have owned and operated Starclub Print and Sign Centre, in Gympie, Queensland, for the past five years, focussing on signage since 2008.

After turning down a number of jobs they felt were too large to handle on their own, the couple decided it was time to expand their business, choosing to add value with a known brand.

Several months of thorough research resulted in Justin and Kerryn's decision to join Sign A Rama signage franchises. This was due to the company’s 20 plus years of experience, and comprehensive support network.

“Sign A Rama has given us new confidence to expand the business,” Justin says. “We previously had to turn down quite a few big jobs because I didn’t have the know-how to do them. Now we have the support we need.”

The couple says that they are already experiencing the benefits of the combined purchasing power of a network of retail franchises.

Compared to their time operating as an independent store, Justin notes that they are now paying significantly less for signage products and other purchases such as insurance and marketing materials.

“The immediate increase in revenue far outweighs the introduction of royalty fees,” Justin comments.

He adds that “it’s great to feel like we’re a part of a group and to be able to draw on the experience and expertise of others. We’re looking forward to taking this business to the next stage.”
