Ice cream franchise snaps up dairy awards

Ice cream franchise Wendy’s has picked up six Dairy Industry Association of Australia awards.

Wendy’s Lemon & Lime Fruit Sorbet has proved more than just a winner with customers, taking out the Gold Award in the Gelato Class. The ice cream franchise brand also won Silver Awards in the Premium Ice Cream/Gelato (with inclusions) Class for its Triple Choc Chunk, Honeycomb Smash, Cookies ‘n’ Fudge, Mint Madness and Rocky Road.

Peter Lokan, Wendy’s general manager of marketing, said “We’re always working on new flavours as well as ensuring that our old favourites continue to be great tasting and of the highest quality.

“These awards are testament to the hard work that goes in to ensure our franchisees have an outstanding product to offer their customers.”

A panel of dairy industry experts judged the ice creams for flavour, texture and appearance.
