Home grown canola oil highlights KFC's commitment to great tasting, quality food
KFC recently made a switch to home grown HOCAN canola oil to cook its freshly prepared foods. Sourced from Australian farmers, the canola oil was rolled out across KFC franchises in May.
KFC is supporting local Australian farmers by introducing the high-oleic canola oil to its food production process and the oil was developed to keep the iconic KFC taste that people know and love.
According to a press release, KFC Australia's Chief Marketing Officer, Nikki Lawson, said that the move to canola oil deepens KFC's ongoing commitment "to providing our customers with the best quality food, grown and cooked in our own backyard" and is proud to announce the brands ongoing investment in the Australian economy.
KFC has been trialing the new oil in its Tasmanian franchises since October 2010, ensuring its chicken keeps the iconic KFC taste. The canola is sourced from reputable Australian suppliers including Cargill, MSM Milling and Integro Foods.
