Gloria Jean’s wins Syphon Coffee Award in the 2011/12 CSR Golden Bean Coffee Roasting Competition
Gloria Jean's Coffees has won an award in the Syphon Coffee category in the 2011/12 CSR Golden Bean Coffee Roasting Competition.
Held on the Sunshine Coast, the 2011/12 CSR Golden Bean Coffee Roasting Competition had attracted coffee roasters and coffee industries from Australia, New Zealand, Asia, USA and South America.
Syphon Coffee is a method of brewing coffee that managed to maintain the delicate flavours, which usually gets lost through overcooking and poor preparation.
The new addition of the Syphon Coffee category ensured the CSR Golden Bean Coffee Roasting Competition continued to move ahead with the innovations in the industry.
Gloria Jean’s Coffees had managed to beat 62 other entrants in winning the Syphon Coffee category.
“Syphoning is a theoretical way of brewing coffee that offers a clean and unique light tea-like coffee experience,” said Gloria Jean’s Global Creative Manager, Matthew Button.
“The coffee best for a syphon is a medium-light roast single origin coffee, and to win gold in the syphon category in its very first year is a great result for the business and our coffee development team.”
Gloria Jean’s Coffee had also received further recognition by winning the Bronze Awards in the chain store/franchise (milk based) and filter coffee categories.
The award-winning Syphon coffee will soon be available at all Gloria Jean’s Coffee house franchises nationwide.
