Gloria Jean’s Coffees helps donate Sunshine Coach to Box Hill North School
Gloria Jean's Coffees has helped donate the $150,000 Sunshine Coach to Box Hill North school through their children’s charity campaign with Variety in late 2011.
Box Hill North is an independent not-for-profit school, which caters for 30 students diagnosed with social and emotional problems, such as Attention Deficit Disorder and Asperger Syndrome. Previously, non-profit school had to rely on their two 15 year old busses to take their students to excursions and TAFE classes.
According to Box Hill North’s School principal, Peter Heffernan, the new Sunshine Coach has taken the pressure off their two aging busses. The first trip planned is to take the students snorkelling at Half Moon Bay.
Gloria Jean’s Coffee was able to help donate the Sunshine Coach through its annual Cappuccino for a Cause day, which was held in October last year in all coffee house franchises.
On top of the Sunshine Coach, Gloria Jean’s Coffee also donated a second-hand coffee machine for staff of Box Hill North school and a fridge for the students.
