Gloria Jean’s Coffees help raise $11,300 for Armidale Hospital’s children’s ward
Gloria Jean’s Coffees , and more than 20 other local businesses, has donated some of last month’s transactions in order to raise a total of $11,300 for the children’s ward at Armidale Hospital.
Armidale’s Gloria Jean’s Coffees co-owner, Karen Page, said her coffee house franchise donated 50 cents from every transaction to the children’s ward. According to Page, the money raised as made possible through her coffee franchise’s ‘great team effort’.
Previously, in the month of October 2011, all Gloria Jean’s Coffee cafe franchises had participated in a national fundraising event called ‘Cappuccino for a Cause’, which helped raised donations for Variety, the Children’s Charity.
The coffee shop franchises had worked hard to raise a target of $150,000 in order to fund three Sunshine coaches and two custom-built swing sets for wheelchair bound children.
Other than Gloria Jean’s Coffee, Armidale Town and Country real estate, St George bank, Armidale Pure Spring water, Anytime Fitness and Centro were amongst the companies that helped raise the funds for Armidale Hospital’s children’s ward.
A charity auction was also held, which included 25 items and attracted an additional 25 businesses to help the hospital fundraiser. A charity run was also conducted to help increase the donations.
