Gloria Jean’s Coffees expands to Vietnam
Since Austrailans Nabi Saleh and Peter Irvine had bought and opened the first Gloria Jean’s Coffees in Sydney, 1996, the coffee franchises now have 1000 cafe outlets in 39 countries, including Vietnam.
According to Gloria Jean’s Group CEO, Keith Brown, who told the Australian that Vietnam has been one of the key emerging markets in the world.
Vietnam is currently included in the top 10 emerging markets worldwide with a growing middle class and second youngest population in Asia. This growing market has been a key target for the coffee franchises in which they are open to new taste profiles and are willing to try new products and brands.
Gloria Jean’s Coffees currently has six cafe franchises in Vietnam with plans of opening another 20 more in the next five years.
“When Gloria Jean’s was first launched in Vietnam in 2006, the key customer base was expats working and living in Vietnam, as well as tourists who were already familiar with the brand,” said Brown to the Australian.
“This has now changed with the client base now being 20 per cent foreigners and 80 per cent locals.
