Franchise hits the Beach House
With 13 clubs based around Melbourne and one recently opened in Launceston, Tasmania, the Beach House Fitness franchise is one of the fastest growing chains of franchise fitness centres in Australia.
Founder and director Adam Price opened the first Beach House Centre over five years ago, and in December 2004 the 15th club was opened in Tweed Heads, Queensland.
The gym franchise offers the successful model of a mixed centre with a ladies-only section. The core product offered in each of the centres is:
• a strength and conditioning area for use by members and casuals;
• a variety of classes such as fit-ball, group exercise, cycle, body pump, tae boxing, and wellness zone;
• personal training facilities; and
• pilates, yoga and massage.
The culture at Beach House is relaxed and low pressure, with an environment where members and casuals can use facilities without being pressurised to sign up for classes, buy products, or having to be fit or look beautiful.
“Our centres are different in that they are aimed at people who simply want to achieve and maintain a level of fitness and wellbeing without feeling self-conscious about age, size or gender,” says Price.
Members are from all age groups with a strong mix of people in the 25–45 age bracket, including mothers with young families.
According to Price, Beach House will be looking at various locations around Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast over the next six months, with sites already planned for Helensvale and Treasure Cove.
