How would you define your brand?
Skincare.
How old is the company and when did you start franchising?
The company is 54 years old; we started franchising in 2001.
How many franchises do you have?
80.
How are you going to grow the business in 2008?
Regional expansion and by introducing other salon models that are both smaller (express for CBD areas) and larger.
Where do you expect the business to be in 2010?
280 franchises and New Zealand as well.
What do you expect from a franchisee?
To align themselves with the brand and to provide outstanding customer service at all times.
What are the start-up costs for a franchisee and what working capital should they have?
Around $275,000 which includes everything, even the franchise fee. Equity needs to be at least 30 per cent.
What is the length of agreement?
6 years plus two further options of 6 years.
What sort of hours will the franchisee have to work to get the business established and how long should that take?
Spool up is 12-18 months and most operate six days per week from gam till 6pm.
What profit can a franchisee reasonably expect to make after two years?
This varies considerably and depends on the demographic and the quality of the franchisee.
