Drawing on Navy and franchising experience, Vicki Prout assists in franchise development

Vicki Prout, founder and Chief Sherpa of franchise consultants, Sherpa Group has had a unique journey into through the world of franchising. Determined to become a leader, Vicki joined the Navy at a young age and adopted their mantra, ‘Blame no one, Do something, Expect nothing’.

After over a decade in the defence force, Vicki decided to turn her hand to small business, buying a pet food delivery company.

Her franchising experiences peaked however when she became the International Development and Marketing Manager for Cartridge World.

This role saw her experience franchising in over 40 countries and allowed Vicki to lead the company into industry excellence. Upon leaving the role, Cartridge World boasted 1,600 stores in 42 countries.

Vicki’s continuing success with Sherpa Group franchise consultants has been built on her extensive experience in franchising and business systems, in-depth understanding of franchise marketing, strategic development, legal frameworks and documentation.

Additionally, reconciling entrepreneur’s expectations in widely differing cultures has lent to her franchising expertise and ability to offer sound franchise advice.

Vicki’s varied experience in the franchising world, as a franchisor, franchisee and consultant, has given her a wealth of knowledge, a remarkable skill set and highlighted her ability to face the challenges of business expansion.

Vicki established Sherpa Group in 2009, drawing from her experience in the franchising sector as well as her days in the defence force. The group is an international consultancy that guides businesses through expansion and franchising. Vicki acts as a leadership partner with clients.

Vicki was voted SA Franchise Woman of the Year for a record four years in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2010 and was recently FCA National Chair for Women in Franchising.
